Every drop in the ocean counts,

Have you ever sat, watched the entire Little Mermaid series through and then wished and prayed so hard that the next morning you'd wake up in Atlantica and just...well, be a mermaid? In all honesty most of you probably haven't but I on the other hand have, numerous times.
However no, unfortunately this post isn't going to be solely devoted to my sheer love of the ocean and all things in it, be them mythical or not though it is in some tiny way related to the ocean - or to water at least?

Underwater Fashion Photography.
Oh, my, god. This is without a doubt my latest addiction - after spotting it in an ancient copy of VOGUE magazine (that I found in my sisters old bedroom) advertising the then latest Chanel dresses I nearly died. The photos were stunning, and of course the girls in them and the clothes they were wearing were also divine, but the thing that did it for me was the fact that it was all actually taken underwater. Amazing. The way harsh light becomes softer as it refracts through the surface of the water is breathtaking and it gives the photos a gentle and more...fluid feel.
It must take a real talented photographer to take photos like the ones we see in the ad campaigns our faveourite magazines print, but it must be even more challenging to be just as talented - underwater. Using the specialist equipment, finding the light and making sure the models don't look hideously disfigured by the water (because believe me, underwater shots can do that to you, TRUST!) and all the while producing an amazing piece of artwork afterwards. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

I love how simple yet stunning this shot is!

So there we go, perhaps if I fail at becoming a successful photographer on land I'll head out to sea and set up shop there, pretend I'm a mermaid and take tonnes of pretty pretty under the sea pictures.

A xxx
